Outpatient alcohol rehabs are designed for people who are
not able to enroll in full time residential drug and alcohol treatment centers.
These rehabs recognize the fact that there are alcohol addicts that are
employed or are in school and do not have the liberty to leave their jobs or
families to seek such treatment.
What are the schedules
like?
The programs are often cost effective and consist of daily
or weekly group or therapy sessions. Here, alcohol addiction patients are also
given the option to take part in in-house meetings. As much as the patients are
granted more freedom, they are at the same time held accountable for active
participation in the program.
What to expect with
the program
Outpatient alcohol rehabs focus on preventing relapse by the
addict. The programs can also serve as a continuation of more rigorous treatment
for the patients who have been discharged from inpatient programs. The program
makes the alcohol addiction patients aware of their inner strengths and
weaknesses and thus equip them to better handle their daily challenges. They
also equip the patients with problem-solving skills and effective communication
tools among other vital life skills.
