Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs require living at the facility during the treatment for a certain period of time, such as a few hours daily or in a week.
Partial Hospitalization
In case the medical practitioner feels that the individual is unable to go through the withdrawal symptoms comfortably, he or she would recommend the patient to be hospitalized and remain under observation for a couple of hours until he reaches a stable condition.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
These are the most intense outpatient programs that require a strong commitment. Individuals are usually required to visit the facility for more than 2 hours a day. Note that the major focus here is to prevent relapse.
Group Therapies or Environmental Therapies
If the practitioner feels that the relapse is due to your environment, then he or she may recommend switching to a healthier environment during the time of treatment. This could include living with recovering addicts or spending a few hours a day at a sober facility.
Counselling
Counselling is usually blended with most outpatient drug treatments, where individuals are counseled and motivated towards a healthier lifestyle. In addition, counselling also helps patients develop better relationships for a better outlook in life.
